Trail Blazers' Meyers Leonard: Playing 5-on-5 Saturday

Leonard (shoulder) was cleared to play in five-on-five drills during Saturday's practice, Casey Holdahl of TrailBlazers.com reports.

Analysis:

While the Blazers haven't offered much in terms of updates on Leonard's status, his participation in five-on-five activities would appear to indicate that he's been cleared for full contact. As such, Leonard's status for the beginning of the regular season doesn't look to be in jeopardy. He's expected to make his preseason debut Tuesday against the Lakers, according to Mike Richman of The Oregonian.
