Nets' Trevor Booker: Modest showing in Nets debut

Booker started at power forward and supplied five points (2-4 FG, 1-2 FT), five rebounds, three assists and two steals across 18 minutes in Thursday's 101-94 preseason victory over the Pistons.

Analysis:

After trading away Thaddeus Young this summer, the Nets have a void in the starting lineup at power forward, but coach Kenny Atkinson hasn't commented on who will fill that slot. If the lineup for the preseason opener offers any indication, Booker is the leading candidate for those duties, though Luis Scola should also remain a factor in a potential job battle. Booker didn't really do anything to distinguish himself in Thursday's contest, but he delivered respectable per-minute numbers on the boards for the Jazz last season and could flirt with close to a double-double production if he ends up landing the starting role and making a push at 30 minutes per game.
