Rockets' Patrick Beverley: Out with left knee soreness

Beverley won't play in Tuesday's preseason opener against the Knicks due to left knee soreness, Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Analysis:

Beverley was cleared for full practice a week ago while battling a cut on his foot, so the sore knee is a new injury for the point guard. It's not believed to be a serious issue, but the Rockets will handle Beverley with caution. With Beverley sitting out Tuesday, James Harden figures to see more time at point guard, while Eric Gordon will enter the lineup at shooting guard.
