Rockets' Eric Gordon: To start in place of Beverley on Tuesday

Gordon will start at shooting guard in Tuesday's preseason tilt with the Knicks, Calvin Watkins of ESPN.com reports.

Analysis:

Patrick Beverley (knee) won't be available, so the Rockets will go with a pair of natural shooting guards in the backcourt. James Harden, far and away the Rockets' best playmaker, will shift down over to point guard, while Gordon will work off the ball. Expect Gordon to return to a bench role once Beverley returns to availability.
