Magic's D.J. Augustin: In the starting lineup Monday

Augustin will start at point guard in Monday's preseason matchup with the Grizzlies, John Denton of OrlandoMagic.com reports.

Analysis:

Elfrid Payton is expected to open the season the team's starter at the position, but he's dealing with a hip injury and won't play Monday. That opens the door for Augustin to take on an expanded role, although C.J. Watson and Mario Hezonja could also benefit with additional minutes. Once the regular season approaches, Augustin should settle in as the Magic's top backup point guard.
