Pacers' Kevin Seraphin: Not expected to open season in rotation

Pacers coach Nate McMillan said last week that he expects to open the season with a nine-man rotation, with Seraphin not being included among that group, NBA.com's Mark Montieth reports.

Analysis:

While McMillan hasn't ruled out expanding the rotation to 10 men if a player's performance warrants it, Seraphin wouldn't appear to be next in line for a spot, as guards Glenn Robinson and Joe Young and forward Georges Niang appear to rank ahead of him in the pecking order. Seraphin had to wait until early September before landing a two-year contract with the Pacers, which more or less illustrated his limited value on the NBA marketplace. The 26-year-old struggled to stick as a rotation member of a less talented Knicks' squad a season ago, averaging just 3.9 points and 2.6 rebounds in 11.0 minutes per game.
