Spurs' Tony Parker: Will sit out preseason opener

Parker (rest) has been ruled out for Monday's preseason opener against the Suns.

Analysis:

As expected, Spurs coach Gregg Popovich will limit his starters' minutes throughout the preseason, so Parker figures to be used sparingly during the team's exhibition schedule. Top backup Patty Mills will also sit out for rest, so look for Dejounte Murray to likely move into the starting lineup at point guard in his place.
