Spurs' Manu Ginobili: Will not play Monday

Ginobili (rest) has been ruled out for Monday's preseason opener against the Suns.

Analysis:

Spurs coach Gregg Popovich is electing to rest most of his key rotation options Monday, with Ginobili, LaMarcus Aldridge, Pau Gasol, Tony Parker, Patty Mills and Danny Green (quad) sitting out. The absences of Green and Ginobili should open up more time on the wing for Jonathon Simmons and Kyle Anderson.
