Spurs' Pau Gasol: Ruled out for Monday

Gasol (rest) won't play in Monday's preseason opener against the Suns.

Analysis:

Coach Gregg Popovich is resting a bunch of his veteran players, with all of Gasol, LaMarcus Aldridge, Manu Ginobili, Danny Green, Patty Mills and Tony Parker sitting out. Dewayne Dedmon will likely start at center in Gasol's place Monday and could see extensive action throughout the preseason if Gasol continues to get games off. Gasol's next opportunity to play will come against the Hawks on Saturday.
