Hornets' Kemba Walker: Will sit out preseason opener

Walker (knee) won't play in Monday's preseason opener against the Mavericks.

Analysis:

After undergoing knee surgery in May, Walker opened up training camp as a limited participant, but was recently fully cleared during Saturday's practice. Despite his improved status, Walker will sit Monday, as it appears the Hornets are going to play it safe with his minutes throughout the preseason. Ramon Sessions is expected to get the start at point guard in his place and could see extended minutes considering Brian Roberts (hamstring) will also sit out this matchup.
