Magic's Elfrid Payton: Misses second straight practice
Payton (hip) was sidelined a second straight practice Thursday, Josh Robbins of the Orlando Sentinel reports.
Analysis:
A projected starter for the upcoming season, Payton has been dealing with a strained hip flexor since Tuesday. He indicated Wednesday that his injury was feeling better, but he took another day off Thursday for further rest and recovery. The Magic open up their preseason schedule against the Grizzlies on Oct. 3, so for now, it looks like Payton could be at risk of missing that contest.
