Hawks' Dennis Schroder: Sits out of practice with sore ankle

Schroder was held out of Thursday's practice with a sore ankle, KL Chouinard of Hawks.com reports.

Analysis:

The Hawks haven't revealed much about the severity of Schroder's injury, but more details should be available in the coming days. At this time in the early days of training camp, teams tend to act cautiously with their players even when they're dealing with minor injuries, so there's little reason to worry yet about Schroder's status for the upcoming season. The 22-year-old is expected to move into a regular starting role this season and should notice a substantial jump in his 2015-16 averages of 11.0 points, 4.4 assists, 2.6 rebounds and 0.9 steals in 20.3 minutes per game.
