Clippers' Alan Anderson: Expects to compete for starter's role

Anderson took some reps with the first team during Tuesday's practice, with coach Doc Rivers indicating that the starting small forward job is "wide open," Dan Woike of the Orange County Register reports.

Analysis:

Anderson saw limited action with the Wizards last season due to recurring ankle issues and a groin injury, appearing in just 13 games. After signing with the Clippers on a one-year deal this summer, Anderson is now back to full strength, and he'll be given the chance to battle for a significant role in the Clippers' rotation. He'll battle Luc Mbah a Moute and Wesley Johnson for the starting gig, but it may be difficult for any of those three to achieve much fantasy value, as all would likely see low usage rates whenever they're on the court with the likes of Chris Paul, Blake Griffin, J.J. Redick and DeAndre Jordan.
