Dwyane Wade has a special request for Chicago Bulls PA announcer Tommy Edwards.

After some long thought this summer, the Illinois native has decided he wants to be introduced as "from Chicago" during lineup announcements this season.

Born and raised on the South Side of Chicago, Wade opted to go back to his hometown after 13 seasons with the Miami Heat, signing a two-year, $47.5-million deal with the Bulls in July.

Wade has been active in the Chicago community since his arrival, pleading for social change and urging city officials to change their gun laws following the murder of his cousin, Nykea Aldridge.

"We have a different kind of battle here in Chicago," Wade told reporters at Bulls Media Day. "That’s what my focus is on, what can I do to help the youth in this city."

The Bulls will open their season on Oct. 27 against the Boston Celtics.
