76ers' Jerami Grant: Expected to play more at small forward

Coach Brett Brown said that he expects Grant to see most of his time at small forward this season, Jessica Camerato of CSN Philadelphia reports.

Analysis:

Grant probably doesn't shoot well enough from the outside to permanently settle in on the wing, but the team's abundance of big men -- which includes Jahlil Okafor, Nerlens Noel, Joel Embiid, Ben Simmons, Dario Saric and Richaun Holmes -- will force Brown to get creative in finding time for the third-year forward. The 6-foot-8 Grant is a springy, athletic specimen who can capably guard wing players, but he'll likely become even more marginalized on the offensive end than he was last season, when he averaged 9.7 points per game in 26.8 minutes per game. Expect the playing time to decrease as well; small forward isn't quite as crowded of a position for the 76ers, but Robert Covington, Hollis Thompson, Saric and Simmons could also see time at that spot at the expense of Grant.
