Raptors' DeMarre Carroll: 'Still not 100 percent'

Coach Dwane Casey said Monday that Carroll is "still not 100 percent" recovered from last season's arthroscopic procedure on his right knee, Josh Lewenberg of TSN reports.

Analysis:

The knee surgery limited Carroll to 26 games last season before he returned to the court prior to the start of the playoffs. While the Raptors advanced to the Eastern Conference Finals, it was clear that Carroll was less than fully healthy, and he also developed nagging wrist and ankle injuries near the end of Toronto's postseason run. Despite a four-month break, Carroll is apparently still recovering from the knee issue, but he noted that he's no longer dealing with swelling and is now focused on building strength, according to Ryan Wolstat of the Toronto Sun. Casey indicated that the Raptors will limit Carroll's workload during camp, and his minutes will be monitored when the season begins.
