Thunder's Cameron Payne: Cleared for Tuesday's scrimmage

Payne (foot) expects to fully participate in Tuesday's scrimmage, Erik Horne of The Oklahoman reports.

Analysis:

It was uncertain if Payne would be ready for training camp after undergoing surgery to address a Jones fracture in his right foot, but it appears he's progressed as well as the Thunder could have hoped. It doesn't sound like he'll face any limitations during camp, so the 22-year-old should be ready to take on backup point guard duties behind Russell Westbrook when the season begins. In addition, Payne may occasionally see some time alongside Westbrook in the backcourt, which should translate to a decent uptick from the 12.3 minutes per game he received as a rookie.
