The Cleveland Cavaliers have opted to bring back veteran swingman Dahntay Jones for another shot with their title-winning squad.

Jones will join the club on a non-guaranteed contract and attend training camp with the reigning champions, Joe Vardon of Cleveland.com reports.

Earlier this summer, Cleveland waived Jones with the goal of shedding his $1.5-million contract from the books. However, it was understood the 35-year-old might return sometime down the line.

Although he only played 50 minutes in the playoffs, Jones proved to be a valuable contributor. Most notably, he recorded a personal 5-0 run in Game 6 of the NBA Finals, helping the Cavaliers complete a 3-1 series comeback against the Golden State Warriors.

Jones, a veteran of eight teams, holds career averages of 5.4 points and 1.7 rebounds across 623 appearances.
