Grizzlies' Chandler Parsons: Will be limited to start training camp

Parsons (knee) will be limited at the start of Grizzlies' training camp, but continues to make progress in his rehab. "There's no swelling, no pain," Parsons said, in regards to his right knee. "I have been progressing every week, doing more and more. Starting off with the bike, then the elliptical, then the pool workouts, and now I'm pretty much on the court, more lifting weights, box jumps, different kinds of agility stuff. I'm building up that strength and getting more comfortable with it."

Analysis:

Parsons underwent arthroscopic surgery in March to repair a medial meniscus tear in his right knee and has spent the offseason going through a heavy dose of rehabilitation. He has yet to be fully cleared from the injury, but the expectation remains that he'll be good to go for the start of his first season with the Grizzlies, with whom he signed a four-year, $94 million contract in July. From the sounds of it, Chandler will gradually ramp up his activities as camp progresses and will be reevaluated on a weekly basis leading up to the season. Parsons' troubling injury history makes him one of the riskier early-to-mid-round picks in fantasy leagues, but assuming health permits, he'll open the season as one of the Grizzlies' go-to scoring options.
