Kings' Jordan Farmar: Gets contract from Sacramento

Farmar agreed to a contract Tuesday with the Kings, international basketball writer David Pick reports.

Analysis:

The details surrounding Farmar's contract aren't available, but the veteran's deal likely doesn't contain a full guaranteed. Farmar will battle rookie Isaiah Cousins for the third-string role at point guard behind Darren Collison and Ty Lawson, and could have the upper hand for that role due to his familiarity with coach Dave Joerger, who he played for in Memphis last season. Farmar logged 12 games for the injury-riddled Grizzlies, averaging 9.2 points (on 42% shooting), 3.1 assists, 2.1 rebounds, 1.3 steals and 1.3 three-pointers across 24.3 minutes per contest.
