Pelicans' Tyreke Evans: Continues rehabbing right knee

Evans continues to rehab his surgically-repaired right knee, but will still be sidelined for the beginning of the upcoming season, John Reid of the New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.

Analysis:

Pelicans coach Alvin Gentry suggested in July that Evans wouldn't be ready to go when the season started, so this news doesn't come as much of a surprise. Evans' knee problems have been a chronic issue throughout his career and have required three procedures in a nine-month span, making him a rather unreliable fantasy commodity despite his strong production when he's on the court. With Evans and Jrue Holiday (personal) sidelined for the beginning of the season, E'Twaun Moore, Tim Frazier, Langston Galloway, Lance Stephenson and Buddy Hield are expected to see elevated roles in the backcourt.
