Humbled Jimmy Butler admits he can't play football

Sam Sharpe / USA TODAY Sports

After weeks of talking up his football game, Chicago Bulls shooting guard Jimmy Butler appears to have come to the realization that he likely wouldn't make it in the NFL.

Butler, who claimed he'd be a better wide receiver than Demaryius Thomas and Antonio Brown, shared a story in the hashtags of an Instagram post about how he was put in his place by a 10-year-old at Thursday's Carolina Panthers-Denver Broncos game.

Butler was asked about his claims of being better than Thomas in an interview with Ben Swanson of DenverBroncos.com, and had this to say:

"I may get a little bit in over my head, but I talk a big game. I'm not going to say that I can or cannot live up to it on the football field. I guess nobody will ever find out, because I'm never suiting up for an NFL team, but that's the relationship we have."
