Cavs wish free agent J.R. Smith happy birthday on social media

Amid the Summer of Swish, today is the Day of Swish.

Friday is J.R. Smith's birthday, and although he's still not on an NBA roster with roughly three weeks remaining until training camp, the team he recently won a championship with has wished him a happy 31st.

On his special day, the Cleveland Cavaliers wished the shooting guard a very happy birthday on Instagram and Twitter.

It was reported earlier this offseason that the Cavs expect him to return, with general manager David Griffin saying he's "very confident" he'll re-sign the swingman. That notion still stands, according to ESPN's Dave McMenamin.

A fresh contract would be a pretty sweet birthday gift.
