The man who stabbed New Orleans Pelicans forward Chris Copeland outside of a Manhattan nightclub was sentenced to 60 days in prison and five years probation on Wednesday, The New York Daily News' Shayna Jacobs reports.

Shevoy Bleary-Murdock hospitalized Copeland back in April 2015 after stabbing him in the stomach outside 1 OAK Club in Chelsea. Copeland was immediately taken to an intensive care unit, and was forced to undergo surgery for the wound.

Thabo Sefolosha and former NBA player Pero Antic were arrested following the incident after attempting to prevent police from setting up a crime scene. Sefolosha later filed a civil suit against the New York Police Department after suffering a broken leg during the altercation.

Copeland averaged 2.1 points and 0.5 assists in 24 games for the Milwaukee Bucks last season.
