Jose Calderon retires from international hoops

Jose Calderon has played his last game on the world stage.

The Los Angeles Lakers point guard announced Tuesday he'll no longer suit up for the Spanish national team.

He's represented his nation in the past four Olympics, winning two silver medals and, most recently, bronze in Rio.

At 34, Calderon's seen his playing time and role decrease dramatically over the years, and only saw the floor for 25 minutes in the tournament.

He's been competing for Spain for the past 20 years, starting at the cadet level in 1997.
