Sixers deal Kendall Marshall to Jazz for Tibor Pleiss

Regardless of who's in charge, the Philadelphia 76ers insist on cornering the market for second-round picks.

The Sixers will trade point guard Kendall Marshall to the Utah Jazz for center Tibor Pleiss, two future second-round picks, and cash. The deal was made official on Friday.

Adrian Wojnarowski of The Vertical first broke the news.

This transaction allows Utah to dump $3 million in salary owed to Pleiss, while taking on Marshall's non-guaranteed figure of $2 million.

The Jazz waived Marshall shortly after the trade was completed.

Utah's clever maneuver brings their payroll down to $79 million. That gives them nearly $15 million of cap room in which they can use to negotiate a potential extension for Gordon Hayward.

As for the Sixers, they get two picks as a sweetener for taking on Pleiss, who showed some potential in Utah as a backup center.
