Report: T-Wolves sign Toure Murry, John Lucas III to training camp deals

Geoff Burke-USA TODAY Sports

The Minnesota Timberwolves have signed free agent point guards Toure Murry and John Lucas III to training camp deals, league sources tell ESPN's Marc Stein.

After two forgettable seasons in the NBA, Murry spent last year with the D-League's Sioux Falls Skyforce, averaging 11.5 points, 4.7 assists and 4.1 rebounds on 41.3 percent shooting.

Lucas, who also spent last season in the D-League, played in 18 games with the Fort Wayne Mad Ants in 2015-16, averaging 17.7 points, 4.9 assists, and 3.1 rebounds, while shooting 35.7 percent from deep. The 33-year-old has played in seven NBA seasons throughout his career, spending time with the Houston Rockets, Chicago Bulls, Toronto Raptors, Utah Jazz, and Detroit Pistons.

With Ricky Rubio, Kris Dunn, Zach LaVine, and Tyus Jones already on the roster, both players will likely have a tough time making Minnesota's opening day squad come October.
