Team USA dominated the hoops scene at the Rio Olympics, winning its third consecutive gold on Sunday.

While most of the hype surrounded players like Kevin Durant, who led the team in scoring, and Carmelo Anthony, who was playing in his fourth and last Summer Games, there are others who deserve recognition for their role on the squad.

"(Kyle Lowry) was the best team player out of everybody," U.S. assistant coach Jim Boeheim told Michael Rosenberg of SI.com.

"He just really bought in and was a great leader and gave everything he had every time he went out there. That was important for our team."

The 30-year-old Toronto Raptors floor general averaged five points on 3.6 shots, to go along with 3.8 dimes and 3.2 boards in 16.2 minutes per contest in his first time suiting up for the red, white, and blue.

He shared some photos on Instagram after his team clinched the top spot, and apparently has a new favorite color:

I LOVE GOLD!!!!

For his efforts, Lowry got to take home the game ball, telling Doug Smith of the Toronto Star: "Don't worry about it, that thing's with me. That thing is going home. That thing's going with me."
