Heat, Udrih agree to reported 1-year contract

Beno Udrih is taking his talents back to South Beach.

The 34-year-old point guard has agreed to a one-year guaranteed deal with the Miami Heat, the team announced Wednesday.

Terms were not disclosed, but the deal is guaranteed for one year, according to The Vertical's Shams Charania.

Udrih did the Heat organization a significant favor last season by accepting a buyout after suffering a season-ending foot injury. The move put the Heat back under the luxury tax line, something that reportedly angered other teams.

Miami appears to be in something of a reset mode for the coming season, losing franchise legend Dwyane Wade while retaining center Hassan Whiteside. Udrih can serve as a capable backup to Goran Dragic, although he hasn't played more than 20 minutes a game since 2012-13. He averaged 4.7 points and 2.6 assists in 44 games split between the Heat and Memphis Grizzlies last season.
