Spurs' Tony Parker: Sits out final first round game for France

Parker sat out of France's 100-97 loss to the United States on Sunday due to a toe injury, Paul Garcia of Project Spurs reports.

Analysis:

Parker was held out for precautionary purposes after hurting the toe in France's previous game against Venezuela, but he should be ready to take the court in the quarterfinals. Despite Parker's absence, the French team was still able to push the powerful United States squad to the brink. With Parker returning to action for the quarterfinals, France could make a legitimate run at the podium during the 2016 Summer Olympics.
