Hawks' Tiago Splitter: Expects to be ready by training camp

Splitter (hip) expects to be at full health for the start of training camp, Chris Vivlamore of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

Analysis:

Splitter underwent surgery in February to address a persistent hip injury and is reportedly making great strides in his recovery. He already resumed sprinting on the basketball court a few weeks ago and should steadily his increase his activities before training camp commences in late September. It was originally uncertain if Splitter would be ready to go for the start of the 2016-17 season, but the positive reports surrounding his recovery make it likely that he'll be able to slot in as Dwight Howard's top backup at center when the campaign kicks off.
