Nuggets' Juan Hernangomez: Inks deal with Nuggets

Hernangomez officially signed a multi-year rookie contract Tuesday with the Nuggets, Harrison Wind of BSN Denver reports.

Analysis:

After selecting Hernangomez with the 15th overall pick in the June draft, the Nuggets weren't immediately certain if they'd bring the Spanish-born forward to the NBA right away, but he won them over with his play in the Las Vegas Summer League. Hernangomez averaged 10.2 points, 8.2 rebounds, and 1.8 assists in 26.8 minutes per game, while shooting 54.5 percent from the floor. He'll get a fair shot to compete for a rotation role with the Nuggets as a rookie, but it's unlikely he'll get consistent minutes off the bat with Kenneth Faried, Danilo Gallinari, Wilson Chandler and Darrell Arthur already representing more established options at the two forward spots.
