Westbrook learned about Durant leaving 'like y'all found out'

At the Oklahoma City Thunder's presser Thursday to announce the renegotiation of Russell Westbrook's contract, the point guard shared his account of how he found out about Kevin Durant bolting in free agency.

Confirming earlier reports that the four-time scoring champion didn't inform him ahead of announcing his decision to join the Golden State Warriors, Westbrook said he learned of the move on The Players' Tribune via social media.

"I found out like y'all found out," the five-time All-Star said, adding that although he and Durant talked leading up to the process, he only received a goodbye text when it was all said and done.

Asked whether Durant leaving for Golden State made his departure "sting even more," Westbrook replied: "Sting for who?"
