Raptors' Delon Wright: Out at least four months

Wright underwent surgery Monday to repair a labral tear in his right shoulder and is expected to miss at least four months.

Analysis:

Wright sustained the injury in a summer league game two weeks ago, and a diagnosis afterward confirmed the severity of the ailment. The second-year player out of Utah was set to open the season as the third-string point guard behind Kyle Lowry and Cory Joseph, but coach Dwane Casey had planned to increase Wright's usage to open the season by utilizing more two point-guard lineups. That plan is now out the window with Wright sidelined through at least early December, and his injury may prompt the Raptors to bring in a veteran in training camp to serve as their third point guard. If the team opts not to sign another point guard, undrafted rookie Fred VanVleet would open the season third on the depth chart.
