Jared Dudley recalls Shaq getting 'so hyped' to show Suns teammates a beat

Long before he was entertaining the crowds at Tomorrowland as DJ Diesel, Shaquille O'Neal was dropping beats for his teammates.

In a piece for The Players' Tribune, Jared Dudley shared a hilarious story about the time Shaq got overly excited to DJ for him and the rest of the Phoenix Suns.

The team was on a plane back to Arizona following a lengthy road trip, and Dudley and several other players were about to start a game of poker when they were interrupted by Shaq.

"Wait, wait, wait, hold up a sec," he said, as he tried to squeeze out of his seat. We weren't sure what the deal was. He had a serious look on his face like he needed to tell us something super important.

He flipped his headphones off his massive head and said: "You guys gotta listen to this beat I just made."

We all sort of looked at him confused, and started to crack up.

"For real."

The beat he played wasn't the most melodic ... it sort of sounded like a drive-by shooting. Just a bunch of different gun noises mixed with drums.

He was so hyped it was hilarious.
