The Los Angeles Clippers are actively exploring potential sites for a new arena, league sources told ESPN's Kevin Arnovitz.

Arnovitz reported that the team has identified six locations, including Westside, a large portion of Los Angeles County that includes communities such as Westwood, Bel Air, Santa Monica, and Beverly Hills.

The Clippers' current lease at the Staples Center, which they share with the Los Angeles Lakers, runs through 2024. They've played in the downtown L.A. building since it opened in 1999, but they're effectively the third tenant behind the Lakers and the Los Angeles Kings.

Ballmer, the former CEO of Microsoft, is known to be keen on technological innovations that enhance the in-arena experience. The owner also said earlier this month the team will never leave Los Angeles.
