It's been widely presumed that Russell Westbrook isn't particularly happy with Kevin Durant's decision to bail on the Oklahoma City Thunder for the Golden State Warriors.

The latest report indicates that Durant may have outright lied to his former teammate by telling him he intended to return to the Thunder.

"Three weeks ago, Kevin Durant's sitting there at dinner, telling him 'Hey, I'm coming back, man. Don't worry about it,'" ESPN's Royce Young said on a podcast Tuesday.

Young wrote Monday about the dinner shared by longtime Thunder teammates Durant, Westbrook, and Nick Collison. He also added that Durant had been in an Oklahoma City suburb looking to buy a house only a week before he chose to join the Warriors.

"Kevin Durant ... was telling people, 'Hey, yeah, I mean I'm coming back.'" Young said on the podcast. "A week before (Durant) sat down in The Hamptons, he was in Oklahoma City ready to make an offer on a multi-million dollar house. Like, the guy was pretty serious about coming back, and then things turned rather quickly for him to leave."

Durant's apparent rapid change of heart has turned the Thunder organization upside down, forcing them to try and get a longer-term commitment from Westbrook, who is currently due to become an unrestricted free agent next summer.

Failure to renegotiate and extend the explosive guard's contract will logically either result in his trade or his voluntary departure, the latter of which could be crippling to the small-market team's future.

Westbrook has been publicly silent on the matter since Durant announced his decision on July 4.
