Knicks' Amar'e Stoudemire: Announces retirement after signing with Knicks

Stoudemire announced his retirement from the NBA on Tuesday.

Analysis:

Though his peak years came with the Suns, Stoudemire opted to sign a one-day contract to retire with the Knicks, with whom he played from 2010 through 2015 after signing a five-year, $99.7 million contract. Stoudemire, 33, was an All-Star in six of his 14 NBA seasons, earning All-NBA First- or Second-Team honors on five occasions. Despite being slowed by knee issues for much of the final third of his career, Stoudemire finished with averages of 18.9 points and 7.8 rebounds per game over 846 appearances with the Suns, Knicks, Mavericks and Heat.
