Warriors' Anderson Varejao: Experiencing back issues

Varejao recently left his native Brazil to have his ailing back tested and evaluated in the United States, Diamond Leung of the San Jose Mercury News reports.

Analysis:

Varejao has been training with the Brazilian national team in advance of the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, but once the back issues set in, he decided to meet with his doctors back in America to get a closer look. The results of his evaluation aren't known, but if it's anything serious, another update should soon follow. The 33-year-old Varejao re-signed with the Warriors on a one-year deal earlier this month and is slated to serve as the team's third-string option at center behind Zaza Pachulia and Draymond Green.
