Mavericks' Justin Anderson: Stars in summer league

Anderson averaged 16.0 points, 7.0 rebounds and 2.6 assists in 27.8 minutes per game over five appearances in the Las Vegas Summer League.

Analysis:

The second-year swingman was a catalyst for the Mavericks in Vegas, leading the team in both rebounds and assists while serving as the team's second-leading scorer. Anderson isn't at risk of getting cut in training camp, but it's still uncertain how large of a role he might have in 2016-17. The Mavericks lost Chandler Parsons in the offseason, but replaced him with an established option in Harrison Barnes, who will join Wesley Matthews as a starter on the wing. Both players figure to play at least 30 minutes per night, leaving precious little court time left over for the likes of Anderson, Seth Curry, Devin Harris and Nicolas Brussino.
