Curry: Barkley's skepticism 'means good things will happen' to Warriors

The Golden State Warriors won 73 games during the 2015-16 regular season and came just short of repeating as NBA champions - without Kevin Durant.

Of course, they added the megastar in the offseason while keeping their best players, but Charles Barkley still isn't sold on them.

"Kevin changes the whole dynamic," the Hall of Famer said Saturday before teeing off in the first round of the American Century Championship. "But you've still got to rebound and play defense. That's the key."

Stephen Curry was also at the event, where a Warriors fan later asked him, "What do you think about Barkley? He hates us."

The reigning back-to-back NBA MVP replied: "That's great. It means good things will happen."

Barkley insisted his comments are "nothing personal," adding, "They've got a great organization. I love Steph and Klay (Thompson). But I don't think small ball works, and it didn't work in the Finals."

It seemed to work just fine when the Warriors won it all in 2015, though. In that isolated incident, according to Sir Charles, they got lucky because "every team they played was hurt."

The odds are against him here, as Golden State's the overwhelming favorite to hoist the Larry O'Brien Trophy in 2017.
