Nuggets' Juan Hernangomez: Will play for Denver in 2016-17

Hernangomez will play for the Nuggets during the 2016-17 season, Spanish magazine Gigantes del Basket reports.

Analysis:

It wasn't certain if Hernangomez would immediately join the Nuggets following his selection with the 15th overall pick in June's draft, but he'll turn down lucrative offers from several European clubs in order to start his NBA career. Though the rookie is coming off a strong summer league showing during which he averaged 10.2 points, 8.2 rebounds and 1.8 assists in 26.8 minutes per game while shooting 54.5 percent from the floor, he'll be hard pressed to see time in deep Nuggets rotation. At the very least, Hernangomez will find himself behind Kenneth Faried and Darrell Arthur on the depth chart at power forward when training camp commences in the fall.
