A second stint in Beantown may be on the horizon for Gerald Green.

The 30-year-old unrestricted free agent will reportedly sign a one-year, guaranteed contract with the Boston Celtics, a source told Sporting News' Sean Deveney.

Green played his rookie and sophomore seasons with the organization after being drafted 18th overall in 2005 out of Gulf Shores Academy.

He was eventually moved to the Minnesota Timberwolves in 2007 as part of the colossal package which brought former league Most Valuable Player Kevin Garnett to Boston, where he ultimately won the first NBA championship of his career shortly thereafter.

Green has also suited up for the Houston Rockets, Dallas Mavericks, New Jersey Nets, Dallas Mavericks, and Phoenix Suns, while playing the 2015-16 campaign in South Beach as a member of the Miami Heat.

In 69 appearances last season, Green averaged 8.9 points and 2.4 rebounds on 39.2 percent shooting in 22.6 minutes. He was less of a factor during Miami's postseason run to Game 7 of the Eastern Conference semifinals, with his numbers falling to just 3.3 points in 9.2 minutes.

In terms of his game, Green is about as hot and cold as it gets when it comes to scoring guards coming off the pine. His shot has never been overly consistent, but when he finds himself in a groove, he can be quite resourceful. In a crowded Boston backcourt, if Green can't provide a steady level of offense that doesn't require him to hoist up shot after shot, head coach Brad Stevens may need to glue him to the end of the bench.
