Trail Blazers' Noah Vonleh: Contributes in summer league outings

Vonleh totaled 12.0 points, 8.8 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game in four Las Vegas Summer League contests.

Analysis:

Vonleh opted to jump ship to the NBA after one season at Indiana which, in retrospect, may not have been the best decision for his growth as a player. In two professional seasons, Vonleh has posted 3.6 points and 3.8 boards per game. However, it seems as though the former lottery pick may finally be projecting into the player scouts once thought he would become. Vonleh led Portland in the rebounding column and proved to be one of the team's most reliable offensive options this summer. Despite the emergence of Mason Plumlee, the Trail Blazers still haven't completely filled the void left from LaMarcus Aldridge's departure last season. In a perfect world, Vonleh would step up and surface as a solid contributor. However, whether or not the 20-year-old has the ability to cement his presence in the rotation remains to be seen.
