Forward Guerschon Yabusele, who the Boston Celtics selected 16th in June's NBA Draft, has agreed to a one-year deal with the Shanghai Sharks of the Chinese Basketball Association, according to the Boston Globe's Adam Himmelsbach.

The news won't come as much surprise to the Celtics, who selected six players in the draft thanks to their recent stockpiling of assets. Yabusele would have joined an already-crowded frontcourt alongside the likes of Al Horford, Kelly Olynyk, and Amir Johnson.

The Celtics would still hold Yabusele's NBA rights. He played for the team's Summer League squad.

The 6-foot-8, 270-pound Yabusele remains one of the 2016 draft's most intriguing prospects, registering a near 7-foot-2 wingspan and a reliable shot out to the arc. The 20-year-old averaged 11.5 points on near 54-percent shooting, and just under seven rebounds a game for French league club Rouen last season.
