Durant explains need for reminders on shoes: 'I may get too tense or too upset'

In what's been perhaps the most dramatic summer of his NBA life, Kevin Durant is trying to remind himself to keep everything in perspective.

As he practices with Team USA during its pre-Olympic training camp in Las Vegas, the newly minted Golden State Warrior sees the reminder scrawled across his shoes:

With that mandate in mind, Durant's explanation for his decision to leave the Oklahoma City Thunder and sign with the Warriors makes perfect sense.

"I just made a decision based on where I wanted to go, man. It was simple as that," he told reporters earlier this week. "We can think about all the reasons and what factored in, but it was just simple: that's where I wanted to play basketball."

Given that he's joining a team coming off a record 73-9 season, there should be plenty of fun and smiles to go around this coming season.

There might be even more if one of Durant's new teammates treats him to a pedicure.
