Report: Suns to host Spurs, Mavs in Mexico City

Joe Camporeale-USA TODAY Sports

The Phoenix Suns will host two regular-season games in Mexico City in January against the Dallas Mavericks and San Antonio Spurs, according to ESPN's Marc Stein.

It had been previously reported the Suns would host the Mavs at Mexico City Arena this coming season. Nothing is official, however, and the dates haven't been released yet, but the NBA schedule traditionally doesn't come out until the end of July or beginning of August.

Mexico City Arena has hosted multiple regular-season NBA games, including last year between the Boston Celtics and Sacramento Kings.

In playing a pair of games south of the border, the Suns would reduce their regular-season home dates at Talking Stick Resort Arena to 39 games. Team owner Robert Sarver is on record saying a replacement building will soon be needed for the 24-year-old facility.
