Hawks' DeAndre Bembry: Signs rookie contract

Bembry signed a rookie contract with the Hawks last Friday, KL Chouinard of Hawks.com reports.

Analysis:

Bembry recently finished off a stint with the Hawks in the Las Vegas Summer League, during which he averaged 10.4 points, 5.0 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 1.6 steals in 26.8 minutes per game over his five appearances. As a rookie, Bembry figures to see scant time behind Kent Bazemore and Thabo Sefolosha on the wing, and he'll also have to compete with fellow first-round pick Taurean Prince for minutes.
