Wizards' Jarell Eddie: Pushes back guarantee date on contract

Eddie agreed to push the guaranteed date for his 2016-17 contract back to the start of the regular season, J. Michael of CSN Mid-Atlantic reports.

Analysis:

Back in December, Eddie signed a two-year contract with the Wizards that covered him for the remainder of last season, but his $980,000 deal for 2016-17 was never fully guaranteed. Eddie's deal for 2016-17 was supposed to become guaranteed last week, but in an effort to afford the team some more roster flexibility as well as to avoid getting waived, he agreed to adjust the guarantee deadline. The Wizards signed undrafted free agent wings Danuel House and Sheldon McClellan this offseason, and those two will presumably battle Eddie in training camp for one of the last spots on the roster.
