Pistons' Darrun Hilliard: Couple weeks away from basketball activities

Coach Stan Van Gundy said last Friday that Hilliard (back) is a couple weeks away from resuming basketball activities, Vince Ellis of the Detroit Free Press reports.

Analysis:

Hilliard suffered a back injury in late June that prevented him from suiting up in the Orlando Summer League, and he's still trying to recover from the setback. The Pistons appear confident that he'll be healthy for training camp, but missing out on summer league play certainly hurts the second-year wing after he was limited to just 38 regular-season appearances as a rookie.
